About Kuliyapitiya Urban Council
Kuliyapitiya is the second largest city in the Kurunegala District of the North Western Province of Sri Lanka and is governed by a Urban Council. It is located 82 km (51 miles) northeast of Colombo. Kuliyapitiya is the home of the North Western University of Sri Lanka.
Coconut and paddy cultivation are the major economic activities in the area. The city center includes commercial and retail enterprises.
